Dr. Richard P. Belhumeur, OD

Richard P. Belhumeur, OD is a native Rhode Islander with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Rhode Island College, post-graduate studies from the University of Rhode Island, and a degree in optometry from the New England College of Optometry. His clinical training includes an externship at the Joslin Clinic, working exclusively with patients with diabetes. Upon graduation, he returned to Rhode Island to join a multi-disciplined, surgical practice while also developing a separate, geriatric practice. Six years later, he began a solo practice at 1120 Toll Gate Road in Warwick. He is a member of The American Optometric Association (AOA), on which he served on the Eye Care Benefits Committee, and the PAC Committee. He is also a member, and past president of The Rhode Island Optometric Association (RIOA) on which he still serves on the Third Party committee. He has been instrumental in the passage of legislation regarding the treatment of glaucoma and the usage of oral pharmaceuticals in optometric care in Rhode Island. He has been a Blue Cross Blue Shield specialty advisory committee member. He has also had post-graduate training at Columbia University, Bentley University, and Babson College. He resides in North Scituate with his wife Barbara and their two dogs.

Dr. Pamela J. Blodgett, OD

Pamela J. Blodgett, OD is a native of Massachusetts with an undergraduate degree from Ursinus College in Pennsylvania, following with a degree in optometry from the New England College of Optometry. She did residency training at the West Roxbury/Brockton Veterans Administration Hospitals. She sought out private practice in Rhode Island, enticed by the advantageous scope of optometric laws for practice. She was also lured by the proximity of the vast Rhode Island coastline and beautiful beaches, as it would seem to be an ideal place to raise a family. She originally worked in a three-OD private practice for five years, and then joined Dr. Belhumeur at the Toll Gate location. She is currently Vice President of Toll Gate Vision and practices full-time with Dr. Belhumeur and Dr. DePaola. She is a member of The American Optometric Association (AOA) and The Rhode Island Optometric Association (RIOA), of which she is past president. She has served as a specialty advisory committee member of Blue Cross Blue Shield of RI. She resides in North Kingstown with her husband Paul, her son and daughter, and their dog.

Dr. Jeffrey G. DePaola, OD

Jeffrey G. DePaola is a native of North Haven, Connecticut with a bachelor’s degree in biology from Central Connecticut State University, followed by his degree in optometry from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University. He graduated with honors and was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa, an international optometry honor society, for all four years of his optometric training. He is a member of The American Optometric Association (AOA)as well as the Rhode Island Optometric Association (RIOA). He resides in Warwick with his long time girlfriend and their dog, enjoying their free time exploring RI and its beautiful coasts.
